Caught between his own grief and sense of family duty, Paul drives his care-free terminally ill brother, Elliot, on a farewell tour to Mammoth California, where Elliot plans to end his life under the Death with Dignity Act. Mammoth recently won at the Student Academy Awards.
Ariel Heller is an independent producer, director and actor. Before coming to USC to study film production, he was a cast member of the off-Broadway show Blue Man Group at the Astor Place Theater in New York, as well as the Tony award winning best play, War Horse, at Lincoln Center. He is now currently in the advanced writing lab at The Groundlings theater in Los Angeles. In May of 2017, Ariel graduated with an MFA from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, where he co-directed The Mad Whale, a feature film starring James Franco, Camilla Belle and Summer Phoenix. The film was a co-production between Franco’s Rabbit Bandini and USC, it is set to release in 2017.
