Tavo Ruiz was born in 1987 in Nezahualcoyotl, Mexico. He wrote and directed his first short film “La madrina” when he was 18 years old, participating with success in different film festivals like the prestigious Morelia Film Festival. In 2016 and 2018 his new short films “Line 9” and “Juan Gabriel is dead” screened in over 60 Film Festivals around the world including Out Fest Los Angeles, Hofer Filmtage and NRFF Amsterdam, where Tavo won the award for Best Director in 2018. Winning several awards in the process. He currently lives in Germany where he is developing his next film project.
