Welcome to New Renaissance Amsterdam 2020

Take a look at our Winner’s Archive. NRFF has been privileged to screen world and UK premieres and films that went on to win an Oscar or get distribution! We are passionate about supporting inspiring artists and storytellers, and especially love quality dramas with strong emotional themes.

The London METRO described NRFF as “A top UK Film Festival,” and we’ve recently featured in VOGUE Nederland’s Cultural Calendar, as well as i-D Magazine (UK) and GQ Brasil.

‘The Silent Child’ – Oscar Winner 2018 – had its UK premiere at NRFF London 2017

NRFF is currently in the top 1.3% (out of 8000) of best reviewed film festivals on FilmFreeway. This is something we take enormous pride in. We’ve also found that filmmakers, screenwriters and actors create new projects from meeting each other at our festival, and we love following up their progress. Some of this year’s official selection are previous winners.

This year’s festival is the 4th edition in Amsterdam, and screenings will take place on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th February, at LAB 111; culminating with a fun awards party on Sunday 1st March, which is always well attended.

During the festival, we will screen a diverse range of stories from around the world including features, shorts, documentaries, dance and music videos and animation. Our Amsterdam programme also includes additional categories for Dutch and LGBTQ filmmakers, as well as a screenwriting competition. Visit the Festival Overview for programme details.

Q&A’s with filmmakers often follow at the end of each screening block, and there are opportunities for filmmakers to mix with other artists and screenwriters during the weekend. Open to the public, tickets can be booked from this website.
